50+ Fit & Fab was born from Karen’s own transformation. She became Fit & Fabulous at 60 — but her journey began at 52, when she realized that carrying 45 extra pounds, having no energy, and relying on eight medications was a miserable way to live the rest of her life. That moment sparked the change that ultimately inspired her mission to help other women reclaim their strength and confidence. Read her story below…

Our Story

From Struggle to Strength

Our story began in 2017 with our founder, Karen Meier, turning 52. When she faced a harsh reality—45 extra pounds, eight medications, constant fatigue, and a prediabetes diagnosis. After decades of failed fitness attempts and uninspiring workout trends, she knew it was time for a change.

A New Approach to Fitness

Determined to take control, Karen discovered strength training could naturally lower A1c levels. She picked up weights, worked with a trainer, and, for the first time, found a fitness routine that was empowering, engaging, and life-changing. In just 90 days, her A1c dropped below prediabetic levels, and over time, she reduced her medications to just one.

A Passion Turned Into Purpose

Fitness became more than just exercise—it became a lifestyle. At 60, Karen is in the best shape of her life, with a metabolic age of 52. Inspired by her journey, she became a Certified Personal Trainer & Nutrition Coach in 2024 and a Certified Life Coach in 2021.

Despite a few wrinkles, minor aches & pains, a bit of crepey skin, you can still be FIT & FABULOUS!

Through strength training, mindset, and sustainable habits, Karen guides women to build strength, confidence, longevity & vitality … all while having some fun and a few laughs!
